Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
EveryIEP ("we," "us") helps parents understand and navigate the special-education process. We take the privacy of your family's information seriously — especially because it can include sensitive details about your child. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email, password (hashed), and state.
- Child & document information — details you add about your child and any documents you upload (IEPs, evaluations, letters). These may contain educational and, at times, health-related information.
- Usage information — how you use the product, and an access log of actions taken on your records.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card details.
How we use it
- To provide the service: analyzing documents, drafting letters, preparing for meetings, and tracking deadlines.
- To process your uploads with our AI provider solely to generate your results.
- To send you transactional emails (welcome, deadline reminders, account notices).
- To secure, maintain, and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your child's records for advertising.
Service providers
We share data only with vendors that help us run the service, under their respective terms: hosting and database (Vercel, Neon), AI processing (Anthropic), payments (Stripe), and email (Resend). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
How we protect your data
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Access controls so only you can see your family's records, plus an immutable audit log.
- Uploaded files are stored privately and served only to your authenticated account.
Data retention & deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your records; we then permanently purge them. You may also contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of your information.
Children's information
EveryIEP is intended for use by parents and guardians, not by children. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. Information about your child is provided by you, the parent, and is used only to deliver the service to you.
Your rights
Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information. Contact us to exercise them.
